    Paramita Saha

    Paramita Saha is a 1st class postgraduate in English literature. Trained in contemporary dance by Sudarshan Chakravorty at Sapphire, also trained in modern dance and jazz from France-based Nana Gleason, dance and Movement Therapy under Janet Kaylo and Laurence Higgens from Laban Center, London,and body narrative with Alexzandra Barrer USA she has worked closely on improvisation work residencies with text-body work with Michel Casanovas (Switzerland), Christopher Lechner (Germany).

    Performing as the lead female dancer from 1999 and leading the company as co-director since 2002 her role in the group includes handling conceptualization, improvisation training and mind body conditioning for school and repertory dancers, documentation, management, copy writing, costume design, . With her expertise in event concept and marketing, branding, lifestyle management, marketing strategy and brand communication she also runs India’s only arts management company Arts Forward promoting novel arts ideas and concepts and has traveled to British Dance Platform 2012 and International Exposure israel 2012. She Participated in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2013 and Adelaide Fringe Festival 2014. Paramita has received the Bharat Nirman Award for Dance in 2007.

    Ankita Duttagupta

    Senior Repertory Member, Sapphire Creations, Kolkata

    Trained in Indian Classical Dance form Odissi since a very early age, Ankita has been with the Sapphire repertoire for last 8 years.Trained in Contemporary dance from Sudarshan Chakravorty, she has also been trained in Text-Movement Improvisation by Christopher Lechner from Germany, Mind-Body Centering from Michel Casanovas from France / Switzerland, Afro-Contemporary from Darryl Thomas, USA and has choreographed works under Roger Sinha of Canada and Idan Cohen of Israel.

    Besides performing with Sapphire in India and internationally in Thailand, Bangladesh, Indonesia, USA and Israel, she has performed as a Guest choreographer for Gati Summer.Residency in 2010 at New Delhi and also for the Prayana Festival organised by Goethe Institut in Kolkata and various other forums across India. Her unique style of movement lends her a rare edge in contemporary exploration.

    Koushik Das

    Senior Repertory Member, Sapphire Creations, Kolkata

    A devoted student of dance from the early age of six, Koushik has been a Kathak dancer under Chandigarh Pracheen Kala Kendra for 18 years. He has been a repertory member of Sapphire Creations for the last 9 years now and has been engaged in learning contemporary dance forms and performing across the country and abroad at events and festivals of repute in Poland, Bangladesh, Indonesia, USA and Israel.

    Trained in Contemporary dance from Sudarshan Chakravorty, he has also been trained in Text-Movement Improvisation by Christopher Lechner from Germany, Mind-Body Centering from Michel Casanovas from France / Switzerland, Afro-Contemporary from Darryl Thomas, USA and has choreographed works under Roger Sinha of Canada and Idan Cohen of Israel. He is the recipient of National Scholarship for Dance from the Dept of Human Resources Development, Govt of India.

    Pintu Das

    Senior Repertory Member, Sapphire Creations, Kolkata

    Pintu has been learning various street and cinematic forms of dance from the age of seventeen. Later he majored in Bharat Natyam from the Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata and has been training in Contemporary dance under Sudarshan Chakarvorty of Sapphire Creations and has been part of the repertory for the last five years.

    He has been engaged in learning contemporarydance forms and performing across the country and internationally in Bangladesh, Indonesia and USA. He has also been trained in Mind-Body Centering and Improvisation from Michel Casanovas from France / Switzerland, Afro-Contemporary from Darryl Thomas, USA and did choreographic works under Roger Sinha, Canada. He has also been recently presented as a Young Choreographer in Prayana Festival organised by Goethe Institut, Kolkata.

    Junior Repertory Member, Sapphire Creations, Kolkata

    Trained in various different styles like-Hip hop,Street Jazz,Lyrical Jazz,Contemporary Jazz and African from various International Choreographers and artistes and trained with 'Sharmila Dance' in Dubai for 5 years and currently with Sapphire for over 2 years.Performed widely in Dubai (UAE) and Kolkata (India)
